Build Women Up is a new Seacoast community for the women behind the industries that build, make, and move the Seacoast: the owners, leaders, operators, designers, and innovators shaping the trades and other traditionally blue-collar industries.
There are a lot of great spaces for women in business around the NH Seacoast. We just didn't see one built for this crowd. Essentially, women running trade businesses, leading teams and projects, and making the decisions that move these industries forward, often as the only woman in the room. So we started one.
Right now, we're starting small, on purpose, with intimate gatherings and real conversations. No elevator pitches, no agenda, no dress code. Straight from the job site or the boardroom, in boots or in blazers. Just women worth knowing, in the same room.
What this becomes next depends on the women at the table. A series of meetups, mentorship, workshops, a podcast, or something else entirely: our founding members will shape it as the group grows.
If that sounds like your kind of people, come say hi.
About
Our Philosophy
Come as you are
No pitch, no agenda. Whether you're new to the your industry or twenty years in, or simply blue-collar curious, you're already the right fit. Show up as you are—that's the whole ask.
Starting small, on purpose
We're not launching with a full calendar of programming we can't back up. Right now it's real conversations and low-key meetups about the trades and other blue collar industries, the business side of running one, and everything in between. More will come, but only as the group grows into it.
Built by whoever shows up
This is completely grassroots. There's no five-year plan sitting in a binder somewhere. What this becomes depends on who's in the room. The early members will be the ones shaping it, meetup by meetup.
Real Talk
-
For women leading and shaping the trades, traditionally blue-collar industries, and the businesses adjacent to them. Owners, operators, leaders, designers, innovators, and change makers building what comes next.
-
No. If your work shapes the trades or the industries around them, whether that's design, real estate, architecture, or running the business side, you belong here.
-
No, on purpose. Meetups will be more relaxed. No dress code, no going around the room with your elevator pitch, no business cards required. We're not recreating a stuffy mixer with a hard-hat theme.
-
No dues, no membership fee. If that changes down the road, it'll be because the group decided it needed to, not because we planned it that way from day one.
-
We're planning our first one right now, so honestly, we don't know exactly what it'll look like yet. What we do know: it won't be stuffy, scripted, or over-produced. We're keeping it simple until there's a real reason not to.
-
Honestly, TBD. That's not to be cagey; what this will become will be shaped by who's in the room. Got an idea for what this should be? Bring it to our first Meetup.
